In contrast to a Company, a Sole Trader is a business entity which is owned and run by one person. There is no legal divide between this person and their business. This means that all of the assets and liabilities of the business are their personal responsibility to. Therefore if the business ever has liabilities that it can’t cover, then the person/Sole Trader has to personally cover these from their own resources. This means that the liability of the person/Sole Trader has in relation to the business is unlimited.
